Family Day on the Mesa

Meet Kua, a young Ancient Pueblan boy who lived in Spruce Tree House in what is now known as Mesa Verde National Park, located in southwest Colorado. Kua and his baby sister, Buu; his big brother, Huna; and his mother and father called this amazing area home in 1250 ce, more than 700 years ago!

In this second volume of the series, you’ll follow Kua as he and his family spend an incredible day on the mesa near their home. There, Kua will help his father build a check dam while Huna goes hunting. Aponi, Kua’s mother, will gather plants in preparation for a family picnic. And baby sister Buu will…well, wait till you see what she does!

Sheryl Jones was born and raised in the Flint Hills of eastern Kansas. She wrote her first story at the age of eight and has never stopped. She taught writing for twenty-three years and has written numerous children’s books and short stories for young readers, including four children’s books for Sea Turtle Incorporated, a sea turtle rescue organization
